MEET MAGGIE
-
Most days you can find me wearing a messy bun and chasing my kids around.
-
I start every day with a giant mug of coffee.
-
I'm a born and raised Annapolis girl but my ideal place to live is in the mountains.
-
I could live off chips and salsa
a little about me...
Well let's see....I don't like talking about myself but you probably want to know a little something about the person who is going to be documenting the important milestones in your life, right?! So, I'll give it a go. Just for you.
I was born and raised in Annapolis, MD, but the rest of my family is originally from Montana, which probably explains why I prefer mountains over the beach and am obsessed with farm-style everything- it's in my DNA.

If you are someone who values creativity, likes a little bit of adventure, doesn't take themselves too seriously, and wants to have FUN with their wedding photos, then let's be friends! Oh, and let me photograph your wedding, too. :)

I can't wait to meet you!
What does purple kite mean?
When I realized that I wanted to shift my photography career to focus on newborn work, I knew I wanted it to represent something with meaning behind it. Babies, new lives, are miracles. Precious, tiny miracles. In being the honored one who gets to capture their early days, it seemed right to dedicate this business which revolves around the start of life to a life who embodied the phrase of "living life to the fullest."

My older sister, Abbey, passed away when I was only three years old. She was born with 8 different heart defects, and she lived eight full, beautiful years before she went to Heaven. My memories of her and I together are limited but vibrant, and usually involved a little bit of mischief but a lot of fun. She packed as much joy into those short 8 years than most people experience in a lifetime. We should all strive for that kind of life.

Her favorite color was purple. Flying kites, watching them fly high and soar over us, just as she does every day, is something my family likes to do in remembrance of her. Hence, Purple Kite Photography.

In this wildly unpredictable life, let's hold onto things that matter, find joy, and take every day by the horns just as Abbey did.
